Oregon Renaissance Faire

For 8.5 years, I served as the Marketing Director for the Oregon Renaissance Faire, overseeing all marketing strategies and leading the creative direction for one of the region’s most beloved events. This long-term role involved managing every aspect of the Faire’s branding, promotion, and public presence—from rebranding and logo creation to website management, advertising, and media outreach.

Project Details

I developed and executed multi-channel marketing campaigns, creating all visual and written materials including social media content, print ads, posters, and promotional merchandise. I wrote and produced radio scripts, led video production to highlight the Faire’s immersive experience, and ensured brand consistency across every platform. In addition to creative direction, I handled PR efforts—writing press releases, securing news coverage, and organizing community events to boost engagement and visibility. My goal was to elevate the Faire’s brand, increase attendance, and ensure every touchpoint, from digital to on-site, reflected the energy, magic, and authenticity of the event.

Creative Process

My creative process for the Oregon Renaissance Faire was rooted in blending strategy with storytelling. Each season began with developing new weekend themes and crafting campaigns that brought those narratives to life across all marketing channels. I focused on creating a consistent and engaging brand identity, designing visuals and messaging that resonated with both loyal attendees and new audiences. Collaboration played a key role—working with entertainment teams, vendors, and media partners to align every detail with the Faire’s evolving vision. From concept to execution, I balanced big-picture strategy with hands-on creativity, ensuring that every campaign felt fresh, immersive, and true to the spirit of the Renaissance.

The Results

During my time as Marketing Director, the Oregon Renaissance Faire experienced extraordinary growth. We expanded from a single weekend event to four full weekends, added popular Saturday evening parties and performances, and grew our audience from 12,000 attendees per weekend in 2016 to over 10,000 guests per day by 2024. Ticket sales increased by over 2,200% from our first year to 2025. Our online presence also flourished, with the Oregon Renaissance Faire Facebook page growing from just 1,000 followers to over 22,000 engaged fans. Through strategic marketing, creative direction, and a strong brand identity, the Faire became a major destination event with a thriving, loyal community.
